Terrace receives nearly $80K to attract new business investment

A program aimed at attracting new business investment to Terrace is receiving nearly $80,000 in provincial funding.

The province is providing $79,800 through its Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program to support the Terrace Downtown Improvement Area Association’s commercial investment attraction initiative.

A provincial news release said the association plans to develop an investment attraction strategy and promotional materials highlighting Terrace’s location, transportation connections and business opportunities.

The province said the initiative aims to attract new businesses, encourage investment and support local job creation while positioning Terrace as a regional service and logistics hub.

“Terrace has a strong foundation for future success, with a skilled workforce, strategic location and strong connections across northwest B.C.,” said Tamara Davidson, MLA for North Coast-Haida Gwaii.

“This initiative will help showcase the community’s strengths and ensure Terrace is ready to welcome new business activity and opportunities for local residents.”

The funding is part of the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program, which supports economic development and infrastructure projects in rural and Indigenous communities throughout British Columbia.
