Two Coast Mountain College students killed in weekend crash

Two Coast Mountain College students have died, and two others were injured following a motor vehicle accident this past weekend.

The college confirmed the four students were involved in the crash, but has not released further details about the circumstances of the accident.

Coast Mountain College said it is extending its deepest condolences to the families and friends of the students who died.

Classes for the affected programs were cancelled Monday and Tuesday as the college community responded to the tragedy.

Grief counsellors have also been made available to students throughout the week.

“This tragic accident has affected many at the college and in our communities,” said CMTN President and CEO Dr. Laurie Waye. “We have connected with the students’ families and have arranged for grief counselling and support for the CMTN community. My heart goes out to all of those impacted by this terrible event.”
