Rain and cool temperatures see category two fire ban dropped

The Northwest Fire Centre is ending its category two fire ban as of noon on Friday.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, this is due to rain and below seasonal temperatures expected in the forecast.

It includes two or fewer fires less than two metres in height and three metres in width.

A category three fire ban will remain in effect across the entire centre.

It will remain until noon on September 25, or otherwise posted.

The category two ban went into effect on June 18.
