Two men charged after late-night assault in Kitimat

Two men now face charges following what police describe as a late-night assault.

The RCMP report that their call came in shortly after midnight on Sept. 17. Two individuals were being attacked near the intersection of Haisla Boulevard and Kingfisher Avenue.

When the police arrived, the men had already driven off the scene on e-bikes.

The two victims were taken to the hospital to be checked for minor injuries. The police indicate that the act was caught on video and that helped detectives get an accurate description of the suspects. Based on that footage, police were able to locate the pair and arrest them quickly.

The suspects were subsequently released on undertakings with conditions.

They will be forced to attend court on a future date to answer to the charges of assault.
