RCMP investigating arson that destroyed two Kalum Kabs buses

Terrace RCMP are looking for information after two Kalum Kabs shuttle buses were destroyed in a suspected arson over the weekend.

The fire started around 2 a.m. on Aug.24 on the 4400 block of Lakelse Avenue. When police arrived, firefighters were already on the scene, but the buses had already been severely damaged. Thankfully, no one was inside either of the buses.

Police believe the fire was set on purpose and that the suspect may have been burned while starting it, before fleeing on foot.

Constable Kelly Cates said police are hoping the public can help.

“We are looking for any CCTV or dash cam footage that may have captured the suspect on the night of the incident.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Terrace RCMP at 250-638-7400.
